The 3 C’s of Ageing Skin – Condition, Cause, Clinical Solution
We all age at a different rate and in different ways, and with each year, our skin gets thinner, drier and less elastic. Wrinkles are an inevitable part of the natural ageing process however some people may also develop skin redness, age spots or sunspots, large pores, fine lines, wrinkles or a dull skin tone.
While genetics do play a part, the harsh Australian sun is the primary cause of ageing – coupled with the fact that many of us grew up wearing little or no sunscreen and never a hat! Other forms of extrinsic (or environmental) ageing include a diet high in sugar and saturated fat, certain medication, lack of sleep and pollution.
